Am I Sensing an Atmosphere?

March 23, 2010

Happy after completeing the sign... finally

Back to Kimmeridge to finish the sign we dug holes for yesterday. Then off to Kilwood to get creative with the brash.

The Two Step Crew being – Little Josh, Hannah, Becky, Sam, Kat, Cassie, Marta and Ruby went back to Kimmeridge to put in one of the new Marine Centre signs. The holes we dug yesterday were full of water, unsurprising though due to the lovely rain. So Little Josh got a straw and sucked all the water out…….. (in case you are wondering, that didn’t actually happen).

The sign went in with no mishaps, and only a few minor adjustments, which was made easier by the presence of tools (depsite bluntness).

Minor adjustments using a blunt saw.... 10 years later, success!

We decided to leave the final sign for another day and headed off to Kilwood for a change of scene.

We used brash from the previously coppiced Hazel, to cover the coppiced Hazel stumps, in artistic wig wam style. This is to protect the new shoots from deer eating them and the centre of the Hazel could one day provide a home for Dormice.

Very artistic

Despite the rain (and Becky falling over a lot) we got lots done, and nearly all the stumps got covered. 🙂

Did she slip or was she pushed?

Great to see that Becky is back, and in form with her blogging!

Good work by all the team out there today -couldn’t have been much fun in the rain.

Looking forward to the next instalment!
