Scrapping at Kilwood

May 6, 2010

Posted By: John (Sams crew)

With the introduction of Rugby Daves arms of steel we took the opportunity to remove a load of scrap metal from some of our reserves.  The first of these items was an old and very heavy safe. The combination of brain and brawn made the job a lot easier than any of us had anticipated, although the photos may suggest otherwise!

Engaging our brains

We gradually raised the safe using posts to the height of the trailer, mainly to prevent any trips to hospital or Dave showing us all up and just throwing it on!

Our work wasn’t done yet though, there was plenty more to remove, including a Nissan hut, a loader from a tractor, windows doors and suspicious looking barrels.  While Josh strutted his stuff in front of the camera (as usual) the rest of us started with some stress relieving hut smashing and glass breaking (which I think Catherine quite enjoyed).
