Back to the Boardwalk – Lorton Meadows

May 24, 2010

Today Sam, Rebecca X2, Ally, John and Ruby paid another visit to Lorton Meadows to add some handrails to the boardwalk built earlier in the month.

In the sweltering heat we managed to remove some barbed wire and replace it with some handrails, which we managed to do in no time while Ruby found a nice cool puddle to roll around in. This must have given her an appetite as she managed to eat my diary!!

Don't we look pleased with ourselves

The afternoon was spent over at Portland, we walked around Knigbarrow quarry to have a look at the extent of Birds Foot Trefoil which is excellent for butterflies, theres a fair bit of it about, and its nicely accompanied by some butterflies.

After a walk around and deciding it was far too hot to do anything else we made our way home, stopping for an ice-cream of course!
